Xiaomi Vision GT Concept Supercar Confirmed Not for Mass Production

On March 2, Xiaomi EV shared information from a Q&A session about its involvement in the Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) project. The company provided details on the concept car's positioning, exhibition plans, and production prospects.

According to Xiaomi EV, VGT stands for "Vision Gran Turismo," a global virtual concept car collaboration initiated by Kazunori Yamauchi, the producer of the Gran Turismo series. This project invites automakers worldwide to push beyond real-world technological and material limitations to design concept cars that represent their ideal vision of future mobility.

The collaboration began last year at the GT World Series event in London, where Yamauchi invited Xiaomi to co-develop a Vision Gran Turismo concept car. This represents a major milestone for Chinese automotive design on the international stage.

Xiaomi EV confirmed that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will not be mass-produced. Instead, the concept serves as an exploration of innovative design beyond the company's core technologies. It aligns with the VGT project's goal of surpassing real-world engineering, materials, and craftsmanship to imagine the ultimate driving experience.

Compared to traditional VGT models, Xiaomi EV highlighted that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo stands out due to its technology-focused design approach. While overcoming physical limitations to achieve aerodynamic innovation, the concept reflects the era of electrification and smart technology. Xiaomi EV announced that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will make its debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona from March 2 to 5, 2026. The company also plans to showcase the concept in China afterward, with further details to be shared through official channels.

Regarding the game release, Xiaomi EV stated that the Gran Turismo team is working on integrating and developing the vehicle for the game. The official launch will occur at a later date, with updates to be provided when available.
