Geely Auto sub-brand Geely Galaxy has previewed a new plug-in hybrid sport utility vehicle, the M7, as it looks to sustain strong growth in the PHEV segment, the company said.

Geely Galaxy released the first images of the M7 on Weibo on Monday, describing the vehicle as a mid-size SUV. The model will be equipped with Geely's Golden Battery, offering a battery-only range of 225 kilometres. With a full fuel tank and fully charged battery, the company said the M7 will deliver a combined driving range of more than 1,730 kilometres.
The M7 will be the second model in Geely Galaxy's M series, following the launch of the M9 in September 2025. Based on its positioning, the M7 is expected to be priced below the M9, which currently carries a discounted price of 173,800 yuan ($25,000), though Geely has not disclosed official pricing.
Regulatory filings published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in December showed the M7 measuring 4,770 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm. Its dimensions and styling closely resemble the Geely Galaxy L7, another mid-size hybrid SUV in the lineup.
Geely Galaxy was originally introduced as a product lineup in February 2023 and was upgraded to a standalone brand in March 2025. Since then, the brand has launched several competitively priced models, contributing to sales growth at the group level.
Geely Auto reported January vehicle sales of 270,167 units, up 1.29% year on year and 14.08% from December. Plug-in hybrid models were a key driver, with PHEV sales reaching 56,240 units, a 36.91% increase from a year earlier, although down 25.15% from the prior month.
Geely Galaxy was Geely Auto's best-selling brand in January, delivering 82,990 vehicles, despite an 11.28% year-on-year decline amid broader industry weakness.
