Changan has introduced the Deepal S05 to the United Kingdom, a compact C-segment electric SUV offering up to 303 miles of WLTP range. The model was designed in Turin and calibrated at Changan's Birmingham R&D center for UK road conditions. It is produced at the company's Thailand factory, which opened in 2023 to serve right-hand drive markets.

Powertrain and Range
The Deepal S05 uses a 68.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel drive variant achieves a WLTP range of 303 miles. An all-wheel drive option is also available, rated at 278 miles.
Interior and Technology
The cabin features a 15.4-inch rotating touchscreen, augmented reality head-up display, and a 14-speaker audio system. Wireless smartphone connectivity is standard. Front seats are heated and ventilated with vegan leather upholstery. The passenger seat offers a full-recline zero-gravity function.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The S05 received a five-star Euro NCAP rating. It includes 17 driver-assistance systems as standard. These support Level 2 autonomous driving through cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors. A 540-degree surround-view camera system is also included.
