On March 4, Zeng Yuqun, the chairman of CATL and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delivered remarks during the first "Members' Passage" group interview at the Fourth Session of the 14th CPPCC. During his address, he highlighted the progress in the new energy sector and outlined the company's strategic vision for the future.

Zeng credited China's rapid advancements in the new energy industry to the nation's steadfast, long-term strategic planning. Over the last two decades, consistent government support and clear policy direction for renewable energy have provided a solid framework for businesses and professionals to thrive within this sector.
He also shared insights into CATL's growth journey. For over 20 years, the company has pursued a strategy centered on independent innovation, dedicating more than 80 billion yuan to research and development, with annual R&D investments exceeding 20 billion yuan in recent years. As a result, CATL now employs over 21,000 R&D professionals and holds an impressive portfolio of more than 50,000 patents. On a global scale, its battery technologies currently power over 20 million vehicles and are implemented in more than 3,000 energy storage facilities.
Looking to the future, Zeng emphasized that CATL aims to further ramp up its R&D efforts, notably integrating artificial intelligence across various domains. The company plans to focus its research on advancements in materials science, chemical systems, structural innovations, and manufacturing methodologies. Additionally, Zeng reaffirmed CATL's commitment to expanding its global reach by promoting its cutting-edge technologies and standards while collaborating with international partners to drive growth in the new energy industry worldwide.
