This shift is on full display in the Maextro S800, a new electric vehicle that makes a powerful statement with an advanced audio system called Huawei Sound Ultimate Series. Huawei, a company with decades of experience in consumer electronics and acoustics, developed the system to create a listening environment that rivals the best concert halls.
The company has invested heavily in audio technology since 2012, building a team of the best engineers who combine hardware expertise with software know-how. The goal for the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series was simple but ambitious: to reproduce music exactly as the artist intended.
Lars Goller, Huawei's Chief Automotive Sound and Acoustics Advisor, explained this philosophy as creating "the outstanding phantom effect of sitting right where the music was created." The system's debut in the ultra-luxury Maextro S800 sedan starts a new era for Chinese-developed audio systems, with a goal to surpass established global competitors.
In a first for the industry, the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series introduces independent sound zone technology. Using special sound field control algorithms, the system acts like a built-in silencer, achieving 30 dB of isolation between the front and rear seats.
This means front passengers can listen to one audio source, and those in the back can enjoy something completely different with next to no interference. The system also includes 10 overhead channels and Huawei's spatial audio track model, which helps pinpoint the exact location of sounds for an incredibly detailed listening experience.
As if that wasn't already impressive, the Maextro S800 uses AI-powered "sound-to-light" technology, which translates the rhythm and emotion of a song into a moving light show across the interior ambient lighting. This creates a richer, more emotional atmosphere where music is not only heard but seen. All of this is powered by a HarmonyOS-based ecosystem, delivering a smooth and connected experience.
