Luxeed, backed by Huawei and Chery Automobile, has launched updated versions of its R7 coupe SUV and S7 sedan, continuing a rapid product update cycle to remain competitive in China's electric vehicle market.
The refreshed Luxeed S7 is priced from 239,800 yuan ($34,800), while the Luxeed R7 starts at 259,800 yuan, both reflecting a 10,000 yuan increase from previous versions. The models were unveiled at Huawei's spring product event, which also featured vehicles from other brands within its ecosystem.
Both updated models come equipped with a new-generation 896-channel image-grade LiDAR system as standard, alongside Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 assisted driving platform, aimed at enhancing autonomous driving capabilities. The company has also introduced new exterior color options, including orange and purple, targeting younger consumers.
Alongside the updates, Huawei reintroduced the Luxeed V9, the brand's flagship multi-purpose vehicle and its first MPV under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance. The V9, first unveiled in January, uses Huawei's Xuexiao smart extended-range system and offers a combined driving range of more than 1,250 kilometers. It also features rear-wheel steering and dual-chamber air suspension to improve handling and ride comfort.
He Gang, chief executive of Huawei's consumer business group, said display vehicles for the V9 are expected to arrive in showrooms nationwide by late April.
The latest updates come just seven months after the previous refresh of the R7 and S7, highlighting Luxeed's accelerated product iteration strategy as competition intensifies in China's EV market. The brand aims to strengthen its market position in 2026 and has set a long-term target of reaching annual sales of 1 million vehicles by 2030.
Luxeed also plans to expand internationally, with a right-hand-drive version of the V9 expected to be introduced in the second half of 2026.
