Africa, which is often associated with poverty and backwardness, is now playing an important role in the global carbon reduction wave. Although electric vehicle penetration is currently as low as 1%, the green transformation of the continent cannot be underestimated. Countries such as Ethiopia and South Africa are flashing their swords with carbon tax bills and ambitious carbon reduction targets, eager to leapfrog "peak pollution" in their industrialisation and go straight to green energy.
For Chinese car companies, the African market is a diamond in the rough. On the one hand, African countries rely heavily on old fuel vehicles and urgently need to replace them to reduce the burden of fuel imports and improve air quality. On the other hand, China's mature electric vehicle technology and industrial chain advantages just fill the gap in the African market and help its green transformation. For example, Ethiopia has not only imported electric vehicle parts duty-free, but also cooperated with China's Golden Dragon Company for many years to assemble electric buses locally, which not only reduces costs but also promotes technology transfer and local employment.

Africa's electrification transformation is not limited to cars. Electric motorcycles and tricycles are also booming, becoming new sights in urban transportation. On the streets of Dar es Salaam, the proliferation of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers is heralding a cleaner, quieter future. These small electric vehicles have quickly won the favor of African consumers for their affordability and convenience, and have become a breakthrough point for Chinese electric vehicle companies to open up new markets.
More importantly, the deep friendship and long-term cooperation foundation between China and Africa have paved the way for Chinese auto brands to enter the African market. From aid projects to trade exchanges to today's green technology cooperation, the China-Africa cooperation model is constantly upgrading, and the cooperation on new energy vehicles is one of the shining pearls.

All in all, Africa, an ancient and dynamic continent, is welcoming the arrival of Chinese electric vehicles with an open attitude. At a time when the European and American markets are in flux, Africa may become a new blue ocean for China's new energy vehicle industry to go to sea, writing a new chapter in China-Africa cooperation.
