China's BYD, JD.com Sign Agreement On EV Fast-charging Stations

Chinese automaker BYD (002594.SZ), opens new tab and e-commerce giant JD.com (9618.HK), opens new tab on ​Friday signed an agreement ‌on fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, according to a ​statement released on BYD's ​Chinese social media platform.

The two ⁠companies unveiled the first ​jointly developed fast-charging station ​in the city of Shenzhen.
The station featured a convenience store, coffee shop ​and retail space run ​by JD.com.
The two companies will develop ‌fast-charging ⁠stations that combine EV charging with retail and service offerings.
The partnership is set ​to ​expand ⁠into site selection and broader vehicle ecosystem ​services.
JD.com's office parks and ​logistics ⁠sites are expected to support future charger deployment ⁠and ​speed up the ​buildout of the charging network.
